Left side blower bulge. Styrene and putty were used to create the unique blower bulge. The air duct and intake grills are from an Athearn GP35 shell; today Cannon parts could be used.

Left side hood detail. The fuel tank breather pipe is brass wire with a piece of the Details West part threaded on. Note the roof-mounted bell.

The Athearn SD9 fuel tank was wrapped with .010" styrene, the ends squared up with styrene sheet, and the top edges filled and shaped with styrene as well.

Left rear side. Athearn SD9 radiators were swapped in as the Atlas SD24 is rather chunky in this area.

Left rear truck. Athearn's trucks look fine as-is; the brake lines were added with brass wire and a good coat of chalk weathering adds character and depth.
