July 30, 1986 Los Angeles to Houston approved for 19' 0" high double stack service.
August 4, 1986 Dallas to Los Angeles approved for 19' 0" high double stack service.
March 25, 1987 Barstow to Phoenix Via Parker approved for unrestricted (20' 5" ATR*) double stack service. ATR = Above The Rail.
September 16, 1987 Chicago to Los Angeles approved for unrestricted (20' 5" ATR) double stack service.
October 26, 1987 Los Angeles via Ricker to Houston approved for unrestricted 20' 5" ATR) double stack service.
July 6, 1988 New double stack service New York to Southern California started.
October 6, 1988 Dallas to Los Angeles approved for unrestricted (20' 5" ATR) double stack service.
October 14, 1988 Mojave to Richmond approved for 18' 4" not to exceed 8' wide double stack service.
October 18, 1988 Albuquerque to El Paso approved for unrestricted (20' 5" ATR) double stack service.
October 21, 1988 Avard to Richmond approved for 18' 4" not to exceed 8' wide double stack service.
December 16, 1988 Dallas to Oakland approved for 18' 4" not to exceed 8' wide double stack service.
March 1, 1989 Ft. Worth to Augusta approved for unrestricted (20' 5" ATR) double stack service.
April 5, 1989 Wellington to Arkansas City via Winfield approved for unrestricted (20' 5" ATR) double stack service.
May 24, 1989 San Angelo Jct. to Presidio approved for unrestricted (20' 5" ATR) double stack service.
April 6, 1990 Muir tunnels opened for 20' 3" double stack service at 5:30 p.m..
September 1, 1993 Truss Bridge 264.90 near Kempner replaced. Part of project to open up the route to the Gulf.
December 5, 1993 Truss Bridge 228.40 at Belle Plaine replaced.
September 27, 1994 Truss Bridge 239.54 at Wellington replaced.
October 14, 1994 Tehachapi tunnels approved for 20' 3" double stack service.
August 31, 1995 Bridge 1096.7 replaced with non-clearance structure opening up north end of Valley.
October 1, 1996 Truss Bridge 48.0 replaced opening up the route to the Gulf to very dimensional shipments.
