In July 2003, LifeLike Products brought to the marketplace the next installment of its Proto2000 model line in the form of EMD's SD45 locomotive. In the first release of the locomotive, the roster numbers were #5547 and #5592.

Features of the SD45 model include:

  • Powerful motor with 5-pole skew wound armature
  • Dual Flywheels and Bronze Oil-less Bearings
  • DCC Ready
  • Headlight option as appropriate
  • Long or short blower duct as appropriate
