Notes
By the 1960's, the Santa Fe Railway had
an extensive collection of original patintings. Their collection was in excess of 600
yet they decided to reuse some of the paintings for the 1963, 1964, 1965, and
1967 calendars:
1963 - Grand Canyon South Rim was first used in 1921 when it was titled
At Canyon's Rim.
1964 - Kachina Doll was first used in 1930 when it was titled
Hopi Katchina.
1965 - Turquoise Bead Maker was first used in 1926 with the same title.
1967 - Land of the Navajos was first used in 1942 when it was titled
Going to the Sing.
If no other information is available, one
can tell the difference between the earlier and later versions by looking for the
Santa Fe circle and cross logo. Until 1949, all calendars had the logo overlaid or watermaked
on the image.
